What's the dill with Chris & John?
With two successful series and a thriving franchise on their hands, Chris & John began brainstorming concepts for a possible second season of Rescue! -- or a third series altogether. "It was so hectic because we didn't want to confuse the audience," says Chris of decision on a second season, "we had two options, push forward with another season of Rescue!, which the fans seemed to really love, or risk taking it in an all new direction - again." A crafty compromise was in store, says John, "Frankly, we really wanted to travel to exciting and fun locations, and we'd been receiving a lot of calls for help from Provincetown." And so it was decided, Chris & John would be taking their unique sensibilities to the Cape Cod colonial town of Provincetown for Chris & John to the Rescue!: Provincetown.
After the success of the Provincetown season, Chris & John scoured far and low for the perfect location for another potential season. They found everything they were looking for at Campit Resort in Saugatuck, MI - a gay oasis in the American midwest. "There is no question, Saugatuck really need our help," comments John on the decision to set up shop at a campground, "but we knew we were up for the challenge." In Chris & John to the Rescue!: Summer Camp! Chris & John camped out in a silver trailer and would receive daily Rescue Request Applications in their mailbox and via mobile e-mail. Not only were the rescue candidates unlike any seen before, but the new season showcased lifestyle elements, such as Chris' budding romance with fellow camper, Anthony, and the ever-comical presence of Brian Doyle. Chris ends with, "It was such a fantastic experience and despite the heinous living conditions, and massive amounts of pink flamingo lawn ornaments, we had a great time and rescued a lot of people in need... not something John or I will soon forget."
